Paradise

While on vacation, Cinda and I started joking around that maybe we aren’t miserable, bitchy people. Perhaps, we are capable of cheerfulness and joy and all those other things people feel on a very regular basis.

It seemed fitting that I had a meltdown of epic proportions at the airport bar on the way out of the country. I was preparing for reentry. I am only capable of so much serenity.

The trip was just really wonderful and I am so glad we did it. Irish seemed so relaxed and it was great to have her to myself for a few days. I am selfish like that. I was sad when she had to leave midweek, but apparently people with children don’t like being away from their kids. Cinda and I mourned her departure.

Basically the trip entailed lots of sitting around; sitting on the beach, sitting at this pool or that pool, sitting on the balcony. It was just pure bliss. We didn’t leave the resort once. That means there wasn’t any dolphin shenanigans. I did go topless at the Euro pool for a while though. I am such a rebel.

So, that is it. It was beautiful and wonderful and relaxing and indulgent and I was happier than I have been in a really long time. I spent my thirtieth birthday with great friends in Paradise. I mean, I’m jealous of me.
