The lovely brookem asked me to guest post for her while she is out of town. I jumped at the chance to write something without the safety net of a recipe or a restaurant review.
As I am a deep individual, I decided to write my post about makeup. Men, I can hearing you running away; its cool. Sure, it isn’t really pushing myself, but sometimes girls just want to have fun.
Go check it out. Thanks to brookem for asking me and you all for visiting.
Back to our regularly scheduled programming tomorrow.

I plan on getting about as deep as you over there tomorrow.
Oh thank God.
yeah.
I didn’t click through.
Sorry.
No apologies…I really understand.
Under the weight of all the Disney fandom I carry, I just thought I’d note the picture you chose made me smile.
Hooray! I am glad.
You forego an actual post on your site so you can guest blog elsewhere? Weak. Today’s haiku will be on Kassy’s blog.
SD, I love ya, I really do. Today I am feeling feisty, so I will say this: I don’t owe anyone an “actual” post. Or pictures or content…or anything really. I don’t think it is weak for me to be a good friend or explore other kinds of writing. Also, if you don’t want to click or aren’t interested in the content, that is not my problem. I did write a post.
Come now, I kid. I kid because I love.
SD, you got me all worked up this morning.
None of your boy commenters commented on the makeup post. What is WRONG with them? Sillies.
I know-it makes no sense at all.
Careful k8, I bite.
Be nice.
Well, I’m NOT biting today. Have at it.
Will you bite me?
Actually, make up is kind of fun: it’s like painting, but on people. Much easier than on canvas, let me tell you. I never wear the stuff myself unless on stage (or being gothy), but doing it for others, well, it’s easy and pleasant.
Since today is the Not Quite A Post Post, I’ll catch up on something I meant to do before and have been waiting for an excuse to do: follow-up on blog crushes. While I try to clear up my brain bandwidth to get my own blog worth reading again, I take a pile of them daily for amusement and inspiration. Some of them, and some really good ones, stemmed from reading this one. Oddly, I pretty much only comment here. Maybe I don’t have a lot to say, generally. Or I ramble enough in these comments for all of them. Hmm. Anyway, here are some personalities I really appreciate.
I have 2 writing modes, when I’m on my game: goofy and philosophical. rs27 is like a slightly wittier version of my goofy mode, but all the freaking time. Hilarious genius.
VK is another guy I could hang with any time. Most blogs discussing Game (let the reader understand) are irritatingly over the top and pretty obviously compensating for… something. Virgle’s a smart dude with a level head and more than 1 topic.
Kassy knocks me out. When she’s being heartfelt and less guarded, you have clear evidence that beauty can go right to the core. Plus, hey, she put up the best commentary on the Oscars I read since they happened.
But you know, the person I’d most like to meet at a blogger happy hour is our hostess, our dear Lexalemmy, who is charming as hell, wonderfully open about dang near everything, hosts great food conversations, and is frankly beautiful without being full of herself. Hard not to have a crush.
Kass is a kind soul, truly. And VK, God I adore that kid. I am sure he will hate me for saying this, but he is smart as a whip and way more caring and kind than he would ever let on. He is a great friend to me.
And thank you. That is far too generous. I do my best to be open without sharing too much…glad it resonates.
Why do you do this to me!!!
Now i need to go to sephora tomorrow to go buy new things!!!
I have the basics, but not a concealor. Having the basics, but not using them, is a major crime. I want to say that i don’t have time in the morning, but actually i’m just plain lazy. My bestfriend, who is also my make-up genius, isn’t living in holland anymore.
I need a new make-up buddy
I need someone that reminds me to use my basics.
Be my make-up buddy?
Of course I will be your makeup buddy.
I dropped some comments there for ya. There was so much estrogen on that blog I felt like the very air was a poisonous fume of submissiveness and used tampons.
I am not submissive, DF. Well….not always.
k8 None of your boy commenters commented on the makeup post. What is WRONG with them? Sillies.
Well, I for one don’t do much with makeup except to keep it away from my 2 year old niece. She seems to find it at anyone’s place and/or purse no matter how well hidden.
But like f.B, I did like the image. Not a big Disney fan, but it seemed perfect for the post.
Glad you guys can appreciate my mind works in weird ways.
Hey! I read your guest post today and enjoyed it! It’s perfectly fine to write the brain candy about the fun things! I’ll have to check out this blog more often too! I write a lot about food and restaurants on another blog, so I always like to find another kindred (hungry!) spirit!
Thanks Lily and welcome. So glad you liked it.
I am not submissive, DF. Well….not always.
Is that a double negative?
It is whatever you want it to be, Master.
Peregrine John- Thank you so much. Hearing that really does mean so much to me. Its been rough going over at my blog at times and when I do just let it all hang out, its amazing to hear that someone appreciates and finds any nugget of inner beauty or kindness in what I have to say.
That is the ultimate compliment.
