I really think you should make this pumpkin bread pudding this Thanksgiving. It was quite lovely.
Also, you ought to check out my Thanksgiving posts from the past few years. I think they are quite helpful if I do say so myself. They have all kinds of recipes and helpful tips. If nothing else, you can mock my writing from eyars past. You will cringe, I assure you.
I know, I know. It is lame to send you to posts of years past. Thanksgiving just kind of snuck up on me this year and I didn’t have time to pull it together.
Plus, I kind of miss you all. I hate that I haven’t been responding to comments as much since I started my new, super busy job.
What does this have to do with Thanksgiving, you ask? Well, I would be thankful to you if you asked me any and all questions you have regarding Thanksgiving. I have carved out some time today and tonight to respond. Plus, then you can be thankful to me for making you look awesome this holiday.
See how this works? We have a mutual admiration society going on here.
So, how can I help you? This is all about you…really.

I’m spending Thanksgiving with my newish boyfriend and his family. What should I wear?

You should wear a dress or some sort of slacks. I don’t care what anyone says; jeans are too casual.

What the eff is a giblet?
Will you judge me if I order Chinese on Thursday instead?
I ask you these important questions DESPITE the face that you are blatantly promoting my nemesis, Pumpkin.

Yes, and you talk about the bathroom. We are even.
I support Chinese on Thanksgiving. Dumplings, maybe?

What’s a good meat alternative to Ham and Turkey, which I am not a huge fan of.

I am a huge fan of pork loin. So easy to make. Cheap. It is the other white meat.

I may or may not be cooking an entire thanksgiving meal (again) this year. I have most of my dishes all good and ready but I need dessert. Give me Pie recipes!
Preferable pumpkin-related pie recipes
Please.

I prefer that punpkin bread pudding to pumpkin pie, just saying.
I do like the easy no roll pie crust at Joy the Baker: http://www.joythebaker.com/blog/2009/10/easy-no-roll-pie-crust/
And this Paula Deen filling looks insane: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/pumpkin-pie-recipe/index.html

I think I will make the pumpkin bread pudding — I was contemplating a sweet potato poundcake, but bread pudding sounds so much cozier.
Also, a good meat instead of turkey is LOBSTER. Because that’s probably what the pilgrims ate anyway.

Then I’ll be blamed for turning my 15 year old cousin into a drunk!

As the hostess with little-to-no culinary skills, I will be playing bartender. What bevvies should I pour as my kitchen elves prep their feast?

I am SO making that Pumpkin Bread Pudding! For the whipped creams you’ve mentioned (amaretto and bourbon, so far) how would you make them? (Sorry, I’m clueless) Also, any other whipped creams you would recommend with the bread pudding?
Thanks!!

I would stick with amaretto…just some cold cream, a few tablespoons of powdered sugar, 1/2 tsp of vanilla and a heathy slug of booze.

I’m going to Vegas for Thanksgiving what should be my drink of the day?
Cause, you know when you start drinking you can’t switch it up like daiquiri then whiskey sour that would make my tummy hurty.

Oh dear…no whiskey sour. What about vodka soda…goes down smooth. I like them with an extra lime.

have you ever had turducken? we’re having it this year…and i’m pretty excited.

No! I am so sad, but I have never had the pleasure. Let me know.

I know I’m late to the game, but here’s one. What do I say to the relatives that ask “Why aren’t you married?” Because the response “I killed the last one” has been deemed unacceptable by my mother.

I made your pumpkin bread pudding for Thanksgiving last year, and I plan to do the same again this year. Love it!
