Blogger Buffet: A DC Foodie Funfest

by Lemmonex on February 7, 2008

I’ve mentioned one of my best friends (I would say partner in crime if that phrase wasn’t horribly overused), Cindarella, on here several times. How we met is one of my favorite stories. We were both in very similar, very soul sucking jobs and would talk on the phone multiple times a day. One day, she suggested we meet up and get a drink…after 6 months of talking daily. We hit it off and the rest is history– a blurry, highly questionable history. You sometimes meet people in the weirdest ways…

That’s kind of how I feel about this blog. I have already met so many great people, including the lovely bettyjoan over at Trouble with Toast. I never would have imagined people would respond so much to the neurotic ramblings of a girl stuck in her kitchen.

We started emailing a few days ago and we have already had a fantastic idea. (Well, I think it was mainly hers, but details…) We would like to host a potluck sometime early/middle next month for all the food bloggers in the area. There will be gossip and grub and hopefully some exchanged ideas, tips and recipes. Please email one of us or leave a comment if you are a DC food blogger and you want in on the revelry. Also, let us know what you prefer to bring and we will try to be fair with course assignments!

Here is to a food filled future in the making…

will you post mouth-watering photos for us non-food-bloggers to drool over?

Are you taking volunteers for eating yet?

Aw, man…to echo the sentiment behind the other comments so far, can you come if you’re not a food blogger yourself, but just an avid reader of one? :-)

I LOVE this idea you guys are doing. Themed happy hours seem like a much better use than the frat parties of yore. Did I use “yore’ right? Huh.

jess, Jo and Irish: I wish I could but I can’t…even if I love you.

Velvet: I do, indeed, think you used yore correctly. I may be busting at the seams when the night is over, but I am looking forward to meeting all my foodies in arms…
