Things I find personally disturbing:
1. Cheese in a can
2. Canned Olives
3. Carrots in a can
Things I don’t mind as much:
1. Box of Mac ‘n’ Cheese
2. Bento Box
3. Dick in a box

What about Spotted Dick in a Box?
[Reply]
Yeah, food packaged in a can ends up tasting a little bit like can, doesn’t it?! Metallic. Good thing the same isn’t true for all the delightful boxed items you listed.

BB: Mmmm, spotted dick!
CH: Olives in a can are so disgusting. When I hear people say they don’t like olives, I always make sure they have had more than just the kind your grandma puts out at Christmas. Also, I have many jokes to make about these delightful boxed items but my mom reads this blog so I am trying to be respectful.

What if it’s canned carrots and olives served in a Bento?

Olives in a can = BLECH!
Olives not in a can = BLECH!
Olive oil = Mmmmmmm
I am a study in contrasts. Or maybe I’m not?

I-66: It is a tough call, but the dual awfulness of carrots and olives from a can cancel out the bento.
Ninja: You are a mystery wrapped up in an enigma.

HIN:
From the “Lip Reader” episode of Seinfeld:
Kramer: No that’s what he said. “That’s interesting. I love carrots, but I hate carrot soup. And I hate peas, but I love pea soup.” So do I.

I’ll give you the olives and carrots, but cheese in a can is awesome. Come on, movie theater nachos? Or better yet, movie theater pretzel bites dipped in “nacho cheese substance”? Or cheeze whiz on a ritz cracker? Some of my most sublime culinary experiences.

cheese in a can is never, EVER okay. i think it’s actually called cheesefood. if you have to put ‘food’ on the end of a real food? you’re in trouble.

suicide_blonde: If that is wrong, I don’t want to be right.
BB: you love your seinfeld.
Irish: OK, nacho cheese maybe is acceptable, but cheeze whiz repulses me.
carrie m: cheese food! my father always jokes about not wanting to eat anything where they have to tell you it is food.
